Syracuse Football vs. Florida State: 5 Keys to the Game

1 of 6

Syracuse football is reeling after four consecutive losses. Now they have to face a Florida State team that is coming off it’s first loss of the season to Georgia Tech.

Needless to say, it’s not the ideal situation for SU. Florida State is going to be mad at losing on the last play of the game (gee, sounds familiar) and will look to dominate the outmatched Syracuse football team.

Although it doesn’t look like a balanced matchup on paper, Syracuse managed to stay relatively close to Florida State last year. Yes they lost by 18 points, but it was to the team that made the FCS playoffs and finished in the top 10. That team had Jameis Winston on it to go along with many of the weapons they have this year.  I can say with confidence that it was a better team.

Does that mean Syracuse football has a realistic chance at a win? Probably not, but don’t rule anything out. Did anyone really expect Syracuse to hang around with LSU earlier this season? Well I mean, I did, but most people thought I was crazy for it. I also said we’d beat Virginia and USF, so take it with a grain of salt.

Regardless of whether or not SU can realistically win, here are the five keys to the game for Syracuse.
