Alright so technically we’re past the middle of the season, but close enough. Syracuse football is currently 3-4 and coming off four consecutive losses. Their most recent defeat was against the Pittsburgh Panthers, a game they lost 23-20 on a last second field goal. It marked the second consecutive game that was decided on the last snap.
I know fans were hopeful that Syracuse football would be in a better position right now, but the truth of the matter is that this is about what was expected of them. They are incredibly young and got even younger once Terrel Hunt was lost for the season. They are starting eight new players on defense and almost 90% of their offense has come from underclassmen. There were bound to be growing pains.
With just over half the season completed, let’s take a quick recap of how the team has performed thus far. The following are my grades for the team’s offense, defense, special teams, and coaching staff.
