Syracuse basketball 2025 priority recruit Tyler Jackson, who plans to officially visit the Hill in the future, continues to ascend in the national rankings for his class.

ESPN previously had the 6-foot-3 Jackson as a five-star prospect in the rising-junior class, but now other recruiting services have anointed him a fifth star as well, including one of the composite-rating systems.

As I opined not too long ago, the Baltimore native is making a solid case to contend for the No. 1 national ranking in his cycle.

The Orange coaching staff offered a scholarship to Jackson in late April. Per multiple interviews that he’s given lately, the ‘Cuse is prioritizing Jackson in the 2025 class. He is good friends with another top 2025 target for Syracuse basketball coaches, four-star shooting guard Kiyan Anthony, who is the son of ‘Cuse legend Carmelo Anthony.

Syracuse basketball recruit Tyler Jackson is soaring on a national scale.

In a recent interview with On3 national analyst Jamie Shaw, Jackson says that he’s hearing the most these days from Alabama and the Orange.

While nothing has been finalized, Jackson has said more than once recently that he plans to take an official visit to the ‘Cuse, and it’s possible that he could go on an official to Central New York in September with Kiyan Anthony.

Although Jackson and Anthony are friends and even played on the AAU circuit together not too long ago, their recruitments are separate. That being said, Anthony did say in a recent podcast interview that he will also officially visit Syracuse basketball at some point.

ESPN, at present, has Jackson as five stars, No. 9 overall, No. 1 at point guard and No. 1 in Maryland within the 2025 cycle. Jackson, by the way, is a standout rising junior at the Saint Frances Academy in Baltimore.

When 247Sports, a few days ago, updated its national ratings for this class, Jackson jumped to No. 15 nationally, No. 4 at point guard and No. 1 in Maryland.

At the time of this writing, the industry-generated 247Sports Composite ranked Jackson as five stars, No. 11 across the country, No. 1 at point guard and No. 1 in Maryland. Rivals.com, too, just refreshed its 2025 rankings, and here Jackson is five stars and No. 17 overall.

Also when I penned this column, the industry-generated On3 Industry Ranking had him at No. 18 nationwide, No. 4 at point guard and No. 1 in Maryland.

To date, his offer sheet includes LSU, Old Dominion, Pittsburgh, Virginia Tech, California, Kansas, Alabama, Maryland, Illinois, Rutgers, Seton Hall, DePaul, George Mason, Georgia Tech, Rhode Island, Houston, Penn State and UCF, among others.

On June 15, the contact period opened up for the 2025 cycle, enabling college coaches to begin initiating direct communication with prospects in this class. According to reports, Syracuse basketball reached out to Jackson at that time.

Other schools that he’s heard from lately, per reports, include Indiana, Miami, Florida State, 2023 national champion UConn, Kentucky, Oregon and Texas, among others.
