Dyaisha Fair, a standout for the Syracuse basketball women’s team, is having a tremendous 2022-23 season to date.

The 5-foot-5 Fair, a senior guard who hails from Rochester, N.Y., and transferred to the Orange from Buffalo, is leading the ‘Cuse in scoring.

She’s also, at this juncture in 2022-23, one of the leading scorers in both the Atlantic Coast Conference and on a national level.

To that end, per SU Athletics, Dyaisha Fair recently was named one of the 10 candidates for the 2023 Nancy Lieberman Award, which every year honors the nation’s top point guard in Division I women’s hoops.

We’ll have to wait and see if Fair can ultimately win this prestigious award, but either way, being considered one of the top-10 points guards around the country in 2022-23 is a wonderful achievement.

Syracuse basketball guard Dyaisha Fair has put forth a stellar senior stanza.

If you want to check out Fair’s most recent statistics for 2022-23, they are available via the ESPN Web site. Additionally, the Orange’s results to date in the present term can be found on cuse.com.

In 2022-23, Dyaisha Fair is consistently scoring in droves (while connecting from beyond the arc at a solid clip), and she is also facilitating well for her SU teammates.

When I wrote this column, she led the Syracuse basketball women’s squad in assists per game. In one recent win against Virginia, Fair tallied an impressive 36 points in a performance where she hit on 8-of-11 from downtown.

Per SU Athletics, Fair not only possesses an excellent 2022-23 campaign to date, but she also is way high up on the NCAA’s active career scoring list and women’s hoops’ active career scoring average per contest.

By the way, cuse.com notes that Orange fans can vote for Fair as the selection process for the 2023 Nancy Lieberman Award carries onward. Fan voting was to begin on Friday, Feb. 3, on hoophallawards.com.

If you take a look at Fair’s bio on the SU athletics department Web site, you can read up on all the exquisite things that she accomplished during her tenure at Buffalo, including being named MAC freshman of the year, as well as All-MAC first-team and defensive-squad honors.

As I first reported in mid-January, Dyaisha Fair is one of numerous ‘Cuse student-athletes who have signed significant name, image and likeness deals with businessman, philanthropist and top SU booster Adam Weitsman.

Weitsman has shared with me that Fair and his other NIL signees will focus on non-profit, civic and philanthropic efforts in the 315 and 607 area codes, rather than the marketing of Weitsman’s businesses.
