I haven’t come across any 2022 NBA Draft mock projections that include Syracuse basketball senior shooting guard Buddy Boeheim, but he’ll have an opportunity to display his skill-set in the near future before a range of NBA personnel.

The 6-foot-6 Boeheim, who was one of the top scorers in the Atlantic Coast Conference over the past two seasons, is among those who will get to attend the upcoming 2022 NBA G League Elite Camp, according to an announcement from the NBA.

The press release says that Boeheim is among the 44 players who will suit up at this event, which will take place on May 16 and May 17 at the Wintrust Arena in Chicago.

The upcoming camp enables NBA Draft prospects to showcase their skills in front of NBA and NBA G League scouts, coaches and front-office executives, as the players compete in games while also doing strength and agility drills.

Syracuse basketball guard Buddy Boeheim is headed to the NBA G League Elite Camp.

Boeheim, as far as I can tell, is the only Orange player who is going to this camp. I didn’t see senior forward Cole Swider on the list, or Boeheim’s brother, ‘Cuse graduate student forward Jimmy Boeheim.

According to information from the NBA, based on their performances, some of the players who fare well at the camp may get an invite to the 2022 NBA Draft Combine, which will also occur at the Wintrust Arena, from May 18 to May 22.

Former Syracuse basketball star Oshae Brissett, who had a really nice 2021-22 stanza for the Indiana Pacers, participated in an NBA G League Elite Camp several years ago.

Buddy Boeheim, in 2021-22, averaged 19.2 points, 3.4 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.5 steals per contest, while connecting on 40.6 percent from the field, 34.1 percent from beyond the arc, and 88.4 percent from the free-throw line.

Last season, the Orange went a disappointing 16-17, its first losing stanza under head coach Jim Boeheim in his 46 years leading the ‘Cuse.

But Buddy Boeheim carved out a really strong career on the Hill, finishing within the top-15 overall on the team’s all-time scoring list. He also caught fire in the 2021 NCAA Tournament, guiding Syracuse basketball on a nice run to the Sweet 16.

The 2022 NBA Draft, by the way, is scheduled for June 23 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y.
