Nothing is ever a guarantee in the recruiting world, and a high-school prospect’s recruitment can rapidly change, but I have to say that things are looking good for Syracuse basketball as it relates to 2022 four-star target Quadir Copeland.

Over the weekend, we penned a column detailing how Rivals.com national analyst Jamie Shaw has projected that the 6-foot-6 Copeland will ultimately pick the ‘Cuse.

Now another prediction has arrived for Syracuse basketball pertaining to Copeland, an excellent and under-ranked point guard in his class. Dushawn London, a 247Sports national analyst, has logged a Crystal Ball prediction for Copeland in the direction of the Orange as well.

London is assessing a medium confidence level for his pick, at least for the time being. I want to note that all-time, London’s projections are correct about 93 percent of the time, and he’s a perfect 13-of-13 to date when making predictions on 2022 players.

Syracuse basketball seems in a strong spot with four-star point guard Quadir Copeland.

Let me be clear that until Copeland makes his collegiate destination known, it’s not a foregone conclusion that he will select the Orange. But the buzz he’s getting with the ‘Cuse appears solid.

For his senior campaign, Copeland has decided to transfer from the Life Center Academy in Burlington, N.J., to the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla.

Copeland and his AAU team, the Millburn, N.J.-based New Jersey Scholars Elite Basketball Club, are participating in pool play this week at the 2021 Peach Jam tournament in North Augusta, S.C.

He is ranked No. 85 overall and No. 22 at point guard within his cycle, according to Rivals.com. I believe his national ratings in the 2022 class, however, will continue to soar.

Other offers for Copeland include from teams such as Maryland, Rick Pitino-led Iona, Oklahoma State, Connecticut, Oregon, Miami, Penn State, La Salle, Saint Joseph’s and Siena.

Given his stellar play in AAU events, and the fact that he’s suiting up for the powerhouse IMG Academy later this year, Copeland could certainly see more impressive offers arrive at his doorstep.

The word among many Syracuse basketball fans on social media and in chat rooms is that these folks pretty confidently believe Copeland is coming to the Hill.

I’d like to see what other offers pour in for Copeland after the Peach Jam concludes, but there’s no denying that the ‘Cuse could be in a position to get a verbal commitment from him at some point in the near future.
