It’s a bright and early start for Syracuse football in its 2020 season opener on the road versus a really good North Carolina crew.

Syracuse football will help kick off a slate of Atlantic Coast Conference contests when it battles North Carolina at noon on Saturday, Sept. 12.

The league on Tuesday announced game times and television details for the first two weeks of the 2020 stanza, as well as a few other conference duels and Notre Dame’s encounters versus ACC foes that have also gotten revealed.

On Sept. 12, the Orange travels to Chapel Hill, N.C., to face off with the Tar Heels, a squad ranked No. 18 in the pre-season AP top-25 poll. UNC is expected to prove one of the best groups in the ACC during the 2020 term. The meeting between Syracuse football and North Carolina will air on the ACC Network.

A week later, the ‘Cuse hits the road for a second-consecutive affair, as the Orange will make a trip to Pittsburgh on Saturday, Sept. 19. Identical to the Tar Heels tilt, Syracuse football will square off with the Panthers at noon, with TV coverage provided by the ACC Network. League officials sure are loving a noon start time for the ‘Cuse!

Additionally, the ACC said in its press release that the Orange will suit up beginning at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 20, at Louisville. ESPN will air this bout. The Cardinals, like UNC, are expected to prove one of the better units in the conference throughout the fall campaign.

Kick-off times and TV information for a trio of Syracuse football clashes in the 2020 stanza are known at this juncture.

Obviously, the information contained in this ACC statement means that game times and TV details for the eight other remaining contests on the Syracuse football 2020 schedule still have to get unveiled.

Those games are at No. 1 Clemson and at No. 10 Notre Dame, as well as Carrier Dome match-ups against Georgia Tech, Duke, Liberty, Wake Forest, Boston College and N.C. State.

As we’ve previously reported, both North Carolina and Pittsburgh will not allow fans in the stands at football games within the month of September, which includes their games versus the Orange.

Louisville officials are anticipating capacity of roughly 18,000 fans per battle at Cardinal Stadium, although they say that this figure could change amid the novel coronavirus pandemic.
