Final 2018 Record: 4-8

Big Win: Week 10 vs. Louisville

For the third straight year, Syracuse is going to finish their football season with just four wins. As much hype and optimism that there might be about this season’s squad, it will be more of the same for the Orange in 2018.

It basically comes down to their schedule being ridiculously hard this year (and basically every year since they joined the ACC). Especially looking at who Syracuse has to take on outside of the Carrier Dome in 2018.

Of the Orange’s six games on the road this year (including one neutral site matchup), four of their opponents finished the 2017 season with a winning record. Factor in that Syracuse has just two wins in their last 16 away games and it’s not looking too good for the Orange on the road this year.

Even when Syracuse does have the advantage of the Carrier Dome on their side in 2018, it will still be against some pretty tough opponents.

Trying to get wins over Florida State, North Carolina State, and Louisville is not going to be an easy task for the Orange at home this year. Even some of the “easier” schools that Syracuse faces at home this season like Connecticut and North Carolina are totally capable of leaving the Carrier Dome with a victory.

The Orange may have an experienced quarterback in Eric Dungey under center this season, but year three of the Dino Babers experiment is going to look a lot like year two and year one.
