It was an extremely successful National Signing Day for the Syracuse football team. We decided to sit down with one of the key recruits.
We had you covered for National Signing Day with over 23 recruits committing to the Syracuse football team. Over the next several weeks we’ll be breaking down each recruit in detail.
But we start off that venture by sitting down with one special recruit who signed the dotted line, Nykeim Johnson.
We decided to ask him some key questions regarding: why he chose Syracuse, his NFL aspirations, and what pro player he’s been compared too. This was by far our best interview out of the round that we did.
A fantastic interview with Johnson, if you’d like you can follow him on Twitter here: @THAREALNJII. Without further adieu lets get to our interview.

"Nykeim Johnson (@THAREALNJII): No I haven’t , I was already committed before Amba’s success and when he put up the numbers he did, it just proved to me more that Coach Dino Babers knows how to get the job done."
"Paul A. Esden Jr (@BoyGreen25): Just looking at some of your tape and your size my mind sees a little Desean Jackson in you, have you ever been compared to a pro player? Is there any pro that you like to watch and model your game after? Do you take anything from some of the best receivers in the NFL?"

"Nykeim Johnson (@THAREALNJII): I’ve been compared to Tavon Austin before and I actually like to model my game after him, Odell Beckham and Antonio Brown because those guys aren’t the biggest guys but they can get the job done. Beckham and Brown both are speed guys and are tremendous with the ball in their hands and are excellent route runners and I want my game to be as all around like theirs."
"Paul A. Esden Jr (@BoyGreen25): Speaking of the NFL, is that what you have your eyes set on? Or do you have other career goals?"
