XFL Week 3 is already in the books. Here’s a full report on how every former Syracuse football alum performed and who stood out.

Another exciting week of XFL football is officially in the books. Here’s how all the former Syracuse football alum performed in XFL Week 3.

Eric Dungey, quarterback, Dallas Renegades

Eric Dungey didn’t register a stat on the box sheet, but the Dallas Renegades got a satisfying 24-12 victory over the Seattle Seahawks in XFL Week 2.

Although something that is far more important is what the Dungey family is going through this week. Earlier this week the Dungey family announced that Eric’s father, Tim, died after his battle with cancer.

Eric shared this statement on Instagram:

"“Yesterday I lost the man who made me who I am today. He was my idol, my biggest supporter, my toughest critic, and the most selfless person I’ve ever known. The lessons he taught me growing up will forever be engraved into me and I will pass them onto my own children one day.He taught me to never give up and that actions will always speak louder than words. To respect everyone, but most importantly respect yourself and always fight for you and the ones you love.A mix of emotions runs through me ranging from sadness to anger, but the overpowering emotion of happiness and joy from memories shared with him will forever bypass all. I love you, Dad. May you Rest In Peace”"

This explains why Eric was given a week-long leave of absence from the Dallas Renegades. Dungey has since rejoined the team and we send Eric and his entire family our condolences during this difficult time.

Jay Bromley, defensive tackle, DC Defenders

Jay Bromley continues to do his part on the defensive side of the ball for the DC Defenders. Bromley finished with three combined tackles and one quarterback hit.

Shamarko Thomas, safety, DC Defenders

Shamarko Thomas secured two tackles and registered a pass deflection. Unfortunately, that wasn’t enough as the Defenders suffered its first loff of the season and got blown out 39-9 by the LA Wildcats. That was also the first win on the season for the Wildcats who entered this week 0-2.

Jordan Martin, free safety, Seattle Dragons

Jordan Martin continues to be one of the most consistent former Syracuse players in the XFL. Martin collected four tackles and snagged a pass deflection. Sadly as we already discussed it wasn’t enough as the Dragons dropped to last place in the XFL West with a 1-2 record.

Andrew Tiller, offensive line, Tampa Bay Vipers

Finally, the Tampa Bay Vipers are officially the worst football team in the entire XFL. They were competitive against the Houston Roughnecks but ran out of gas at the end losing 34-27.

The Vipers are the only team in the XFL without a win this season (0-3). While on the other side of the coin the team they lost to is the only team in the XFL who is still undefeated after three weeks of play, Houston 3-0.

Although don’t blame former Syracuse football offensive lineman Andrew Tiller, he has yet to play a snap of XFL football due to injury and is unlikely to return this season.
