The trending topic on Twitter is the #NBADraft which is a big topic here in Syracuse. So where will Tyler Lydon go? We discuss.

It’s finally time for the NBA Draft. It all goes down tonight at 7 p.m. For obvious reasons, the big story-line is Tyler Lydon. But before we get there, it’s kind of funny that everyone was complaining about the NBA regular season calling it a formality.

Then the playoffs played out and it was what we thought it was, the Golden State Warriors vs the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Warriors won their second title in three years and seem to be on the cusp of a dynasty.

The season is supposed to be the most exciting time of the year. Yet, the NBA offseason has been by far the most exciting part of this basketball season. From crazy trades, to NBA workouts, to free agent chatter.

Which leads us to the Syracuse basketball team and if we’ll see more Orange in the NBA. We gathered the staff for our weekly segment:

"I believe Tyler Lydon is a mid-late 20s first round pick, but wouldn’t be too shocked to see him slide to the early second round. Should he slide to the second round, the Orlando Magic would be in a prime position to draft him, as they possess both the 33rd and 35th picks. With that being said, my bet is that he gets taken by the Los Angeles Lakers. Having a team nearly incapable of three-point shooting in an era where it is so important, Lydon would bring with him to LA his shooting range as well as his defensive versatility."

"First of all, I must confess that I have no expertise about the NBA Draft. That being said, I could see Tyler Lydon getting selected in the mid- to late-20s of the first round. Most of the draft “experts” have him going in the late first round, or early in the secondMore from Inside the Loud HouseSyracuse Football: Cuse boils Purdue, turns attention to Army on SaturdaySyracuse football only team in country with top-5 scoring offense, defenseSyracuse Basketball: 4-star Elijah Moore not in top 100, and I don’t get thatSyracuse basketball 4-star west-coast recruit, in new rankings, into top 20Syracuse basketball is hitting D.C. market hard in pursuit of 4-stars, 5-starsround. Honestly, who knows. It’s all a crapshoot. If I’m prognosticating here, three possibilities exist. They’re the Toronto Raptors (maybe a tad too high in the first round), the Los Angeles Lakers and the Orlando Magic. I think the Lakers are a strong fit, given Lydon’s ability to shoot from downtown. The Magic possess two picks in the early second round, so I could totally see him landing in Orlando.Wherever he ends up, let’s all congratulate him, and wish Lydon well. If he does slip into the second round, I hope SU fans don’t lambaste him for leaving early. He had to do what’s best for him and his family, and we should all support Lydon no matter what!"

"I could not agree more with Neil. It is hard to imagine Tyler Lydon not getingt selected before the 30th overall pick.Teams like the Toronto Raptors, Orlando Magic, and Portland Trail Blazers are in desperate need for a Power Forward that can stretch the floor nicely, and provide on defense. What most fail to realize is that Lydon is aware of the fact that he needs to bulk up. Once Lydon does so, he can become a nightmare for opposing defenses. Lydon’s rare mixture of size and skill was on fully display over two years at Syracuse, shooting 40% from three, and averaging 8.6 rebounds last season. Toronto has the 23rd overall pick, while Orlando and Portland posses the 25th and 26th pick. I would be very surprised if Lydon slipped past that point in the NBA draft."

"Personally I don’t think Tyler Lydon will fall to the second round. I think even if he did, he’d be a steal. In Lydon’s mind it wouldn’t be too disappointing falling to the second round because he’ll still get to live his dream of playing in the NBA.On the flip side, if he falls to late in the first round then he’ll probably end up being on a contender and possibly get decent minutes as role player off the bench. His skill set is probably better than a D-League player so I don’t expect him to fall there if he lands on a contender.I expect he’ll be a mainstay in the NBA wherever he ends up. He’s probably going to someone like the Pistons, Hawks, Thunder, or Trail Blazers. I don’t think teams like the Bobcats, Magic, Jazz, or Nets will take him because they have enough forwards. Here’s where I can see him landing: Pick 12 to Pistons is a long-shot (they may trade backwards to land him), Pick 19 to Hawks, Pick 20 to Blazers, Pick 21 to the Thunder, 32 to Phoenix, or 41 to Hawks."

"I’ve heard everything you guys have had to say and a lot of them are valid points. Tyler Lydon has worked out for a variety of teams ranging from the edge of top-10 through the middle of the second round.Ultimately I think he falls into the second round. Which unfortunately Neil I expect dozens of Orange fans to blast him on social media. Fans are that bad. It’s not all of them or event he majority, but enough to raise eyebrows.Ultimately perception is reality and he will be judged on, whether fairly or unfairly, on his first round pick status. If he’s a first rounder like Malachi Richardson was last year he will be heralded for making the “correct choice”. Although landing with the Sacramento Kings is hardly a prize, but I digress.Although if he drops to the second round, like I expect, he will be looked on as a player who left too early. I think Lydon should’ve stayed and improved his stock, personally. But if I had my people telling me I was a bonafide first round pick, I would’ve probably scrammed too.To answer the question, the Charlotte Hornets make sense at top of second. The Boston Celtics could also use a stretch four with some scoring prowess from downtown. I’d throw in the Houston Rockets as a sleeper. Although all the names are on table: Orlando Magic, Portland Trailblazers, etc. I’ll say Boston ends up pulling the trigger in the second round."
