This story is a little outside the box for ITLH. Lets discuss the Twitter war going on with the youngest of the Jones family, Jon Jones.

Now it’s time to continue our discussion into the youngest of the Jones family. Jon Jones.

If you missed any of the previous articles you can find them below:

So we left our story off with Jon at the pinnacle of his career having the longest win streak in the history of the UFC with only one dubious disqualification loss marring his record.

Before we go on to his fall from grace let’s talk more recent history.

As we have previously discussed, Jones has been widely recognized as the best fighter pound for pound in the world with the only opponent that can give him a ride for his money is … himself.

Two individuals (both of whom Jones has defeated) have gone out of their way to hurl insults at Jones while he is under suspension from the UFC and unable to defend his name in the Octagon.  We have already recorded Daniel “the Doughboy” Cormier talking trash towards Jones after his recent victory at UFC 182.

The other fighter with questionable judgment to hurl insults Jones’ way is Alexander Gustafsson.

More from Inside the Loud House

Following his fight with Glover Teixeria  at UFC Fight Night, he talked trash about Jon Jones.  Alexander called Jon Jones a bad person and hoped that Cormier would prevail in their upcoming rematch in late July.  Alexander lost to Jones at UFC 165 by unanimous decision.

"“While (Jones) is the biggest enemy,” Gustafsson said after UFC Fight Night 109 via MMAJunkie.com. “I don’t like him. While I give him that he’s the best fighter of all time. He’s the pound-for-pound (best) in our division. Everybody knows he hasn’t lost yet. He demolishes everyone he fights.“But as a person, as a champion, he’s not a champion in my eyes. He’s not a good person in my eyes. I always tell the guys, I hope ‘DC’ wins because I like the guy. He’s a worthy champion.”"

While a back and forth Twitter war ensued with Jones getting the edge by calling out Gustafsson’s lack of heart being the reason that he lost to “the Doughboy”.

While as a fight fan I am hoping that Jon can stave off his demons and come back to regain not only his Light-Heavy Weight Championship but to cement his spot in the UFC Hall of Fame.

As we wait for his return at the end of July we will delve into Jon’s greatest opponent… himself in Part 8 The Mightier the fall …
