Former Syracuse Orange star Jay Bromley signed his rookie contract with the New York Giants Monday, becoming the final rookie to sign on with the team.
The 22-year-old defensive tackle, who was picked in the third round with the 74th overall pick, agreed to a four-year deal and the Giants expect him to compete for time in their rotation between the likes of Cullen Jenkins, Mike Patterson, Jonathan Hankins and Markus Kuhn.
Bromley is currently 6’4″ and 307 pounds, but the Giants want him to continue to get bigger to around the 315-320 range. He played his senior season at Syracuse weighing 297 pounds, so he is about halfway to meeting the goal. During his final year at Syracuse, Bromley led the Orange with 14.5 tackles for loss and 10 sacks.
