Brandon Triche Leads Trento to Gold League Title


A very successful rookie season in the pros ended on a very high note for former Syracuse basketball star Brandon Triche, who helped lead Trento to an Italian Championship.

Triche’s team completed the sweep of Capo d’Orlando on Friday night with a 90-75 victory, taking three straight games to earn the Gold League title. Triche led all scorers with 43 points on 16-24 shooting, including 7-10 from beyond the arc, in 35 minutes. He also added five rebounds, four assists and three steals. Triche had averaged 17.5 points per game during the regular season (10th in the Gold League)  and 21.5 points during the first two games of the best-of-five championship series. Trento held the best record in the league during the regular season, finishing 22-8, and went 9-2 in 11 playoff games.
