For the first time this season, the Syracuse Orange are ranked outside of the top 10 in both the Associated Press Top 25 Poll ad USA Today Coaches’ Poll.
After 18 weeks in the top 10, including three weeks of at number one, the Orange are ranked 11th in both polls after a 1-1 week last week. The Orange were upset by Georgia Tech in the Carrier Dome earlier in the week, but bounced back with a Sunday win in Tallahassee against Florida State to wrap up the regular season.
Duke, Virginia and North Carolina are the only other ranked ACC teams. Duke is ranked seventh in the AP poll and sixth in the coaches’. The Cavaliers, who lost just their second ACC game to Maryland in their regular season finale, are ranked sixth in the AP poll and eighth in the coaches’. North Carolina ranks 15th in both.
The Orange earned a double bye in the ACC tournament and do not have to play until Friday.
