Orange Fall to Seventh in AP Poll

After a 1-1 week last week, the Syracuse Orange dropped from fourth to seventh in the Associated Press Top 25 Poll.

The Orange, 26-3 (13-3), narrowly escaped Maryland with a 57-55 win earlier in the week but lost to Virginia 75-56 Saturday night. The Cavaliers jumped from 12th to fifth in the new poll. Duke is the highest ranked ACC team, moving up from fifth to fourth in the polls. Even though Duke has a higher ranking, the Cavaliers and the Orange sit in first and second in the ACC standings, ahead of the Blue Devils, who are tied for third with North Carolina. The Tar Heels are ranked 14th in the poll, up three spots from last week.

The Orange play their next game Tuesday night in the Carrier Dome against Georgia Tech. It is the last home game and senior night, tip is at 7 p.m. ET.
