Four Syracuse football players were given All-ACC honors by sportswriter Phil Steele on Sunday.
Macky MacPherson. Marquis Spruill, Jay Bromley and Durell Eskridge were honored by the Orlando Sentinel columnist, writing his annual College Football Preview. Macpherson and Spruill earned second team honors while Bromley and Eskridge were placed on the third team.
All four of the players have been receiving honors during the offseason. This is the fourth All-ACC team that MacPherson has been placed on this offseason, all of them being second team honors. Eskridge, who led the team in tackles and is tied for fourth in the ACC in interceptions, was named to Atlantic Coast Sports Media Association and coaches’ third team All-ACC honors as well. Bromley, tied for seventh in the ACC in sacks, was named to the ACSMA and coaches’ third team All-ACC. Spruill was named to the coaches’ third team All-ACC and was an honorable mention by ACSMA.
The Orange play in the Texas Bowl on December 27th against Minnesota.
