Four Syracuse players were named to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference Football Team. Macky MacPherson was named to the All-ACC Second Team and Jerome Smith, Jay Bromley and Durell Eskridge were voted to the third team.
Senior center MacPherson was not a surprise as he was the most consistent offensive lineman and Syracuse had one of the better running attacks in the ACC and that usually starts up front. Macky was also named to the Capital One Academic All-District Team this season.
Junior running back Smith led the Orange in rushing with 840 yards and 11 touchdowns. His numbers were very good considering he split carries during the season with Prince Tyson-Gulley. He now ranks 16th in rushing yardage in school history with 2,145 career yards.
Senior defensive lineman Bromley had nine sacks and forced three fumbles this season. He improved his draft status in 2013 and has the size and strength to play in the NFL.
Sophomore safety Eskridge led the Orange with 78 tackles and four interceptions. He was named the ACC Defensive Back of the Week twice this season for his performances against NC State and Pittsburgh.
Marquis Spruill and Sean Hickey were honorable mention choices.
