Syracuse Football: Penn State Date Announced

The Scott Shafer era will begin Saturday, August 31 at MetLife Stadium against Penn State, the school announced this morning.

The game, dubbed “New York’s College Classic,” will be at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. A time for the game has not been determined.

Tickets go on sale Monday, April 22, at 10 a.m. Prices will range from $75-$175.

It will be the second of 14 games Syracuse is scheduled to play at MetLife Stadium through 2038.

While I am not a big fan of the New York College Classic aka the TakeABunchOfHomeGamesFromTheDome Classic, I can’t wait for the start of football season to see where this team picks up from their momentum gained last season. Despite having Shafer at the helm, we know we will see more of the same system that we saw with Doug Marrone, so it will be interesting to see if that system still works with the departure of play makers like Ryan Nassib, Alec Lemon, Justin Pugh, and Marcus Sales.
