Carrier Dome Sold Out For Saturday’s Showdown Against Georgetown

When Syracuse takes on Georgetown Saturday for the final time in the Carrier Dome as Big East opponents, it will be in front of the largest crowd for a basketball game in Carrier Dome history.

@Cuse, the official twitter account for Syracuse University have announced that the Dome is now sold out with 35,012 tickets sold. The crowd breaks the previous record in 2010 against the Villanova Wildcats which saw 34,616 fans come through the gates.

The Orange and Hoyas are tied atop the Big East Conference, and should both teams go unscathed in to Saturday, could be playing for the lead in the Big East. The Orange-Hoyas games have seen a lot of Big East legends battle it out with each other in this series, and it is the premiere rivalry in the Big East as well as one of the best in the country.

I don’t ever root for Georgetown, but it wouldn’t break my heart for the Hoyas to stay tied for first heading in to this game that nobody will forget for quite some time.
