The Syracuse Orange look to bounce back from their first loss of the season in a game against Alcorn State. Opening tip is set for 7:00 from the Carrier Dome, and will be televised on Time Warner Cable Sports.

Syracuse will play host to Alcorn State tonight in the Carrier Dome, and the game should be over by halftime. The Orange looked absolutely abysmal in a loss to Temple last week in Madison Square Garden, and will definitely be looking to come back strong to send a message. Alcorn State has struggled thus far this season, with  2-12 record and not a single offensive or rebounding category ranked in the top 300 in the country to this point. Marquiz Baker averages over 25 points per game for the Braves, and he will need to do that and then some in this game tonight if the Braves are going to have any kind of chance in keeping the score close.

For Syracuse, this game will be interesting to see how the team responds coming off of the loss. It’s a long season, so I believe Syracuse will enter this game unfazed from last week’s loss, and will take care of business. There should be some great opportunity to get the young players some work in this one, and Syracuse should end up being much more than six deep when it comes to core minutes in this game. Many fans throughout the city were critical of Jim Boeheim (I was not one of them) with his handling of Rakeem Christmas and DaJuan Coleman in the Temple game, and that should be of little concern of fans in this one. I think every player contributes to the winning effort in this one, and I think CJ Fair keeps his momentum going and has another big game in front of the home crowd.
