Battle On The Midway In Danger Of Being Cancelled

The matchup between Syracuse and San Diego State slated to be played on the USS Midway in San Diego is in danger of being cancelled if the game does not pick up a sponsor, Mike Waters of the Post-Standard is reporting.

The ”Battle on the Midway” was just one part of a weekend-full of events for Veterans Day. According to the newspaper’s story, several events have already been canceled including a fan fest on the pier, a concert for charity and a gala dinner.

This game could be a great atmosphere for some great basketball. Both teams are ranked in the preseason top 25, and to play a game on a battleship in such a military rich city like San Diego would really be something special.

Come on, sponsors! Make this game happen!
