Syracuse Spring Football Starting Again

Syracuse backup quarterback Ryan Nassib takes a snap against Rutgers in the last home game of the season. Syracuse would go on to lose against Rutgers 16-19.

It’s almost football season again!

Today, for the first time since December 3rd, 2011, the Syracuse Orange will take the field as a part of their first spring practice. And for the first time, freshman sensation, Ashton Boyld will take the field as a part of the closed practice.

After a disappointing 5-7 season, arguably a 4-8 season (controversial win over Toledo), the Orangemen are looking to get back on track and start the season right at spring practice. The team appears has the majority of the team returning including senior quarterback, Ryan Nassib. The Orange also have up and coming Ashton Boyld, who is really looking to light up the field. Coach Doug Marrone looks to utilize the young Rochester freshman maybe as a running back. “Awesome, this guy is going to be a game changer” said thesnacker.

Syracuse opens their regular season on September 8th against the USC Trojans, and while the season opener, I still expect to see a promising season from the Orangemen this season.
