This is part two of “The Breakdown: Where Will Jonny Flynn End Up”.

As you probably know by now Ricky Rubio has agreed to play with the Minnesota Timberwolves this upcoming season. Not only is this great news for the Timberwolves but it brings them back to the situation that they faced on draft night when they selected Rubio, who will be the starting point guard? With two talented young point guards in Ricky Rubio and Jonny Flynn, the Timberwolves only have room for one.

Well after much excitement from the Timberwolves front office and from star player Kevin Love about Rubio agreeing to come, one would only speculate that Flynn’s days are done in Minnesota. The Minnesota Star Tribune reports “almost certainly will [Flynn] be traded this month.” So where could the young 22 year old end up? Let’s break it down.

Milwaukee Bucks: With reports already breaking that the Bucks are thinking about shopping for a point guard this off-season, right away it puts them out their as a contender for Jonny Flynn. Continuing with that Flynn would make a great fit in Milwaukee as the Bucks are very weak at the point guard position starting with injury prone and inconsistent guard Brandon Jennings. After Jennings it’s just all down hill from there. Keyon Dooling, bust. Earl Boykins, old.

Chances of Flynn going there: Likely

New Jersey Nets: With their focus on the off-season of 2012 don’t expect to much movement besides freeing up more cap space for players. Besides the Nets have superstar Deron Williams who after getting traded to the Nets single handily turned their season around.

Chances of Flynn going there: Not Happening

New Orleans Hornets: Now with Paul’s player option right around the corner the Hornets might want to prepare for the worst and that’s life without of Paul. With that being said don’t count the Hornets out of adding another point guard but with Jarret Jack still there don’t count them in either.

Chances of Flynn going there: Could Happen

New York Knicks: After acquiring Chauncey Billups last year when they received Carmelo Anthony don’t expect the Knicks to even think about getting a point guard. Despite Mr. Big Shot’s age increasing, the young talented Tony Douglas is still there to back him up. Why it would make a nice story to see the hometown kid Jonny Flynn from Niagara Falls, NY to join the New York Knicks the odds of that happening not so good.

Chances of Flynn going there: Not Happening

Oklahoma City Thunder: With a young talented front court the Thunder aren’t looking to improve there at all and they shouldn’t be. With superstar Russell Westbrook leading the way and Eric Maynor backing him up the Oklahoma City Thunder are just minuets away from a title run.

Chances of Flynn going there: Not Happening

Orlando Magic: With the Magic focused on doing anything and everything possible to keep Dwight Howard happy the focus of them bringing in a talent like Jonny Flynn isn’t that high as their main focus is to bring in another superstar.

Chances of Flynn going there: Not Happening

Philadelphia 76ers: With 76ers president Rod Thorn believing that point guard Jrue Holiday is an up and coming talent after saying “a bigger scorer as he goes along through his NBA journey.” The odds of the 76ers looking to get a point guard probably won’t happen.

Chances of Flynn going there: Not Happening

Phoenix Suns: Despite Steve Nash getting older and older by the second the Suns still aren’t looking for another point guard as they planned ahead last year by acquiring point guard Aaron Brooks from the Rockets. Despite the rumors that have been circling about Nash going to the Timberwolves, well it’s not going to happen. Reason being is Khan is already hooked on his new young point guard in Ricky Rubio and having the second pick in the draft they’ll acquire another young star. Even if Nash goes the Suns still aren’t looking for a point guard in return as Brooks showed the Suns last year that he could be the leader of their franchise if needed when Nash missed time with an injury. In those 12 games Brooks averaged 16 points and 6 assists a game.

Chances of Flynn going there: Not Happening

Portland Trail Blazers: While the point guard situation in Portland is up in the air as their not sure if their going to bring Andre Miller back or not the odds of them bringing in a new point guard could be in the discussion. If the Blazers would decide to part ways with Miller they would be left with un-experienced and un-restricted free agent Patrick Mills. So in a buy low situation that the Timberwolves are offering the odds of Flynn going to Portland and the Blazers making a deal could be very high.

Chances of Flynn going there: Likely

San Antonio Spurs: With old time veteran Tony Parker at the point and up and coming point guard George Hill backing him up the Spurs are very full at the point guard position, but that doesn’t mean that they could add some desert by bringing in another option.

Chances of Flynn going there: Slim

Sacramento Kings: With their focuses on a new arena the Kings aren’t pursing to make any moves at the moment and with superstar point guard Tyreke Evans on their team they don’t really have to worry about making a move for a point guard.

Chances of Flynn going there: Not Happening

Toronto Raptors: The Raptors are in a desperate need of making a move. Ever since losing Bosh to the Heat the Raptors have been in need of bringing in another talent or two. While they need to look to bring in another big name superstar, they could always start small with a young and up and coming talent.

Chances of Flynn going there: Could Happen

Utah Jazz: Since arriving in Utah Devin Harris hasn’t been such a crowd favorite. After appearing in many trade rumors after the Jazz didn’t make the playoffs the organization responded by saying that Harris will not leave, and that’s the right choice. However, despite the organization saying that he’s safe doesn’t cut enough for me. With weak backups behind him in Earl Watson and Ronnie Price, the Jazz still not going all in on Harris may still be looking to bring in another young point guard to possibly replace Harris.

Chances of Flynn going there: Slim

Washington Wizards: As we all know John Wall isn’t going anywhere for a while and the Wizards made that clear last year after they traded away former franchise player Gilbert Arenas. With the young up and coming star at their point guard they don’t have to really worry about taking him out of the game. But with no real point guard backing him up the Wizards are definitely looking to find a backup but at a low price.
